According to Sam’s Hope, millions of dogs and cats that are surrendered or abandoned each year in the United States, is due to the inability to continue to financially care for their pets. With the loss of jobs, homes, and income, owners may suddenly find themselves unable to afford food or pet care. Sam’s Hope is dedicated to help “Keep Pets and Their Families Together,” for the benefit of both the pet and the pet owner.
The Mission of Sam’s Hope is a Simple One:
To save the lives of companion animals by keeping them out of shelters (where they face a very uncertain future*), and with their families. They achieve their mission through the following programs:
• Pet Food Assistance Program
• Veterinary Care Assistance Program
• Meals for the Pets of the Homebound & Elderly Program
*Approximately 50% of pets surrendered to shelters never find a new
home, and sadly, are euthanized.
Donations Needed:
Dry Food, Canned Wet Food, Collars, Leashes, Coats, Sweaters, Treats, Toys, Grooming Supplies, and Monetary Donations
Last year was our most successful drive yet, with 896 lbs. of pet food and supplies collected, along with supplies, toys, leashes, collars, coats, sweaters, treats, pet carriers, beds and more. This year we are hoping to surpass last year’s totals, and help even more pets and their families together!
